William Ralph Thompson Sr., age 85 of Boulder, Colorado, formerly of Paris passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Boulder Post Acute.

Bill was born on July 16, 1939, in Douglas County, Illinois to Ralph and Juanita (Hammer) Thompson. He married Sara Smith in Georgetown, Illinois in 1960, she preceded him in death on April 10, 2003.
Bill proudly served his country as dedicated member of the United States Army. He was a farmer and was a security guard at Turkey Run State Park for 5 years. He was a longtime member of the VFW Post 3601 and the American Legion Post #211.
He is survived by his sons: William R. Thompson Jr. and Neil E. Thompson; his grandchildren: Liam B. Thompson, Luke R. Thompson, Luna R. Thompson, Bill Thompson III; 4 great grandchildren and his sisters: Nellie Criss Godfrey and Irene Eads.
