PARIS, Ill. - Harold Ray Rhoads, 94 of Paris passed away at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at his residence. He was born Feb. 27, 1930, in Hume, the son of the late Chester and LaDonna (Watson) Rhoads. He married Barbara (Schable) Whightsil in April of 1984, and she survives.Other survivors include children Gary (Barbara) Richards of West Union, Tony (Kathy) Rhoads of Paris, Rich (Renee) Whightsil of Vandalia and Andrea (Kyle Kenney) Rhoads Trapp of Paris; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, John Griffin; a son, Dyke Allen Rhoads; a daughter-in-law, Karen Spesard Rhoads; a brother, Winston Rhoads; and two sisters, Fern Keltz and Juanita Lenahan.Mr. Rhoads was an accounting supervisor for USI Chemicals in Tuscola for 38 years. He was a member of the Paris Militia and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. Following his Army service, he was in the Illinois National Guard for several years. Harold enjoyed racing go-carts.
